“Best accommodation we had in Vietnam” - Vinh Hung Riverside Resort
We were meant to stay 4 nights but loved it so much we stayed 7. Absolutley loved everything about this resort. Location, location, location - located on the river only 3-5 minutes walk from Hoi An centre and in a quiet part of town, so you enjoy the peace and quiet when you want to relax. If you don't wish to walk into town they will take you free of charge by boat, they also offer free transfers to the beach. The facilities are fantastic, the breakfast selection is unbelievable, the rooms huge and the staff are just amazing - nothing is too much trouble. We also received a free massage, meal, tour and airport transfers. They also have a country market every night so you can taste the local food free of charge. The rate was extremely good for a 4 star hotel. I highly recommend this hotel, I know I will be back next year.

“Step Back in Time and get that Indochine feel” - Vinh Hung 1 Hotel
WOW!!!!!!
A definite highlight of our trip to Vietnam was Hoi An and a definite highlight of Hoi An was Vinh Hung 1.
If you want character and a feel of old time Vietnam it doesn't get any better than this. The place just oozes character. Right in the heart of the old town, it was great to sit on the balcony and watch the locals go by. You really feel a part of it here.
We stayed for 7 nights and we got to know all the locals on "our corner", from the kids to restaurant staff to shop keepers.
The staff were excellent. The breakfast spread was amongst the best we had in Vietnam. The restaurant was excellent and the staff a willing to sit down with you and talk about their lives and family - they even kept our favourite table free for our afternoon drinks each day.
Great to sit and watch to tourist walk by, stop, oogle at the place....and your just thinking to yourself.......yeah where staying HERE...what's your hotel like?
Look it is pricey, but considering all the other savings/bargains that you get in Vietnam... you can afford to splurge a little and experience a LOT at this place (considering what you would pay for a similar location in Europe etc - it is a bargain)... guarantee it will be a highlight.

“I wanted to stay forever!” - Vinh Hung 2 Hotel
I love Hoi An and this for me was the perfect hotel. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the swimming pool and was very quiet. The room was spacious with teak flooring, a balcony and enough storage space for two large cases. Breakfast was acceptable although a little more variety would have been good. The hotel was also the perfect retreat from Hoi An after a days shopping or sightseeing. We had planned only to stay for 5 days and ended up staying 11 and I really didn't want to leave. The only downside is that they must get their wi-fi organised so that you don't need to wait for the two free computer connections in the lobby. I want to go back next year...........

“Good Value” - Vinh Hung 2 Hotel
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We had a room with 2 king singles pushed together to make a huge bed, fantastic it you like some sleeping space. We stayed in the $20 per night room, which had a window which opened to a wall but at least you had a window which let in a bit of natural light, good sized bathroom (had actual shower/bath) and hot water. Air con worked great. Our room was also very quiet! Only a 5-10 minute walk down the the riverfront. Only downfall was that staff didnt speak great English, but for $20 including breakfast and a pool its great value

“Unsure where to stay in Hoi An?” - Vinh Hung 3 Hotel
Mu wife had 5 nights here in Hoi An at Vinh Hung 3 Hotel. It is a 2 minute walk to the Old Townm yes we could have saved US$10 being a few kms out but so what., we are on hols and $30 US a night was fine. We ate over the road most nights for A$10 icluding a large Saigon so how dan you complain. They gave us a a free meal at this flash rest in the Old 1/4, 8 courses for nix and a free trip to My Son, so great value here. They have a pool to relax and the breaky was buffet style and enough to feed the Russian Army( and quite happy for you to make your lunch and grab some fruit. Hot showers in a private ensuite. Free internet, but no Skype. Bikes for hire over the roadm 1$US a day-esp to go to the beach. Hope this helps. Staff were most helpful and friendly.

“Most affordable resort” - Vinh Hung Riverside Resort
I'm rather surprised reading the other recent reviews for this place - we were absolutely thrilled with our stay. Fate brought us here - we tried two other places which were both booked. After seeing those two places and then seeing the Vinh Hung, we really lucked out. We got a great price on a very comfortable and relaxing resort - perfect for what we needed after a few days in Hanoi and Saigon.
Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed - nice big bathroom, A/C worked great, comfortable beds, nice porch to sit outside our room. The pool was huge and very clean. Breakfast each morning had a wide spread of fruits, omlettes, pastries, crepes and several other options. A nice plus is that they have a "food tasting" event each evening where they offer a mix of local dishes for free. We managed to skip out on dinner a couple of times just eating here - good food, not great.
It's a little off the beaten path, probably a 5-10 minute walk to town. That didn't bother us in the least - it was an easy walk and kind of nice to be in a quiet area on the river.
Looks to me that at comparable resorts, people were paying quite a bit more than we did for seemingly similar experiences. No brainer to stay here as far as I'm concerned - incredible value for the money. Very helpful staff, too.

“5 Star hotel at 3 Star prices” - Vinh Hung Riverside Resort
This lovely hotel spoilt us from day 1 taking our original bookings and upgrading us to the Japanese rooms. With views of the river and boat traffic to wake us in the morning to the easy access into the swimming pool with swim up bar. You have the opportunity to enjoy the local fare every evening free of charge and with no restrictions as to how much you would like to try. The breakfast was well presented and suited to many tastes with the mixture of dishes presented. The hotel guest relations person, Jonathan was always available for a chat at breakfast to assist you in what you might want to do for the day and his knowledge of the area and attractions was extremely helpful. Tours organised by the hotel and staff was very efficient and well priced. The hotel laundry was available but for a cheaper price wander out to the front gate where the lovely ladies will have it out of your hands washed pressed and back to you within the day. Access to the old town for shopping was a 5 minute stroll and you could shop to your hearts content and then return to the hotel for the peaceful serenity everyone deserves after a hard day on the town. If you don't want to walk then catch the hotel boat taxi which drops you right in the heart of the shopping district. Internet is available free of charge so contact with the outside world is there for you. Highlight of the trip for us would have been the final night where the hotel made available to us their boat and under the supervision of Son our meal was prepared and served whilst cruising the sites of Hoi An along the river. This beautiful hotel is definitely worth a try and is one of 4 hotels in the Vinh Hung chain.
Would I stay there again? In a heartbeat! Well done Vinh Hung and thank you for a lovely and memorable holiday you run a good ship Han.

Vinh Hung 1 Hotel - Oozes character and charm !
Vinh Hung 1 hotel particularly the Michael Caine room is great for a short stay in the old town of Hoi An. With the red lanterns outside and the chinese furnishings inside sets a romantic mood for couples. We didn't see any creepy crawlies in the room thank goodness... only each other! Staff are friendly and helpful. Don't expect 5 star luxury. Do expect lots of charm and character. Vinh Hung 1 fits in perfectly with old Hoi An town and is a stones throw away from many sights and restaurants.

Vinh Hung Resort - Beautiful setting, great location and amenities !
The Vinh Hung Resort was a beautifully presented resort on the edge of the river. We were concerned that the resort may have suffered flood damage in october, however could not see any sign of it as the grounds were well-manicured and the room was clean. We had a standard room on the first foor. The room was large with a well-appointed bathroom. There was a beautiful balcony at the front overlooking the pool. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool as it was quite cool, but a few people ventured in and made use of the pool bar. The breakfast buffet was excellent, however Hoi An has such wonderful pastries that we often went to Cargo Pattisserie instead. The resort was about a 10 minute leisurely walk to the main restaurants. The walk takes you through some wonderful neighbourhood streets. Across the road from the resort are several stalls set up hiring bikes and offering washing for $1/kg. We had our washing done here and I was impressed. The woman took me into her house to show me her modern washing machine and the line where she hangs your clothes. It only took her a little over 24hrs to do our load, and she was watching for us to return to the hotel when it was ready to be picked up.
Hoi An was by far my favourite place in Vietnam. It is so cute and has the best food in Vietnam. There are so many restaurants there, but I would recommend Cafe Des Amis, Morning Glory, Mango Rooms, and any place selling pastries. We also did the Red Bridge Cooking School, which is a must. Our tailor was B Lan - they were wonderful! Hoi An is definitely the place where you will do most of your shopping, so save room!

Vinh Hung Resort - Superb, approaching 5-star !
Fabulous place, best we got in our Vietnam tour. Not only the gardens and pool (nice Jacuzzi part and real pool bar) but mostly the DeLuxe riverside room. REALLY spacious, nice balcony, and lovely bathroom with a large double jacuzzi that really worked with nice warm water.
Breakfast buffet also lovely, with lots of choices including a made-to-order egg station. And 10 minute walk from town for a wide choice of restaurants, the hotel one is not that special for dinners (but has a nice free 'happy hour' tasting local foods daily from 5-6). Staff very friendly and helpful wherever possible.
So it's really only a few minor points holding them from reaching 5-star. Absolutely recommended!

Vinh Hung Resort - Peaceful!!!
This is a really nice hotel. Perfect location - just 5minutes walk from the center (don't panick nor get scared when you walk from the hotel - alot of little streets and little homes, little everything - all in all Hoi An people are very kind and curious). In the center of town you can do your visiting, shopping, eating. It's quite safe there, and cute. Arrived with the rain, left with the rain, so the streets were a bit flooded, but, that's ok...it couls ave been worse...Back to the Hotel now (! ), the room is very spacious and bungalow typed. Big pool, but didn't get to use it (with a group, not much time, and anyway it rained...). Hotel is located on the big Thu Bon river where the Hotel has a floating restaurant. They also have a restaurant oin the Hotel grounds -the night we arrived we had dinner in the Hotel restaurant - D LI CIOUS ! Big choice of Breakfast
when you return to your room in the afternoon, you can find a heart made out of petals and leaves, the mosquito screen is wrapped around the bed - very romantic.Bathroom is big - considering Vietnam, room is humongous.!

Four-star resort in great location !
Vinh Hung Resort looks far from Hoi An central on some of the maps, but is a 5 minute stroll away, and on the other side of the river from the hard-core tourist area. This means it's easy to get to the food and shopping if you want, but it's quiet and you don't have to worry about a lot of noise in the evenings.
Beautiful int'l-standards appearance hotel. We stayed 1 month after the resort was closed due to massive floods, and had some of the aftermath. For example, the in-room phones didn't work, and the free internet (available at the business center) was incredibly slow.
The hotel has a beautiful pool, in the center of the rooms. Rooms are mostly 8 to a building, and each building is 2-floor bungalow type.
We stayed in a superior level room, which was reasonably large and beautifully decorated, including an overhead canopy which my friend thought was a decorative (actually was mosquito netting). The hotel staff was quite friendly, and tried to be very accommodating. The decor was rather colonial in feel, but nice and everything in excellent shape.
I think the hotel is one of the best in Hoi An, and I would say that in cleanliness, appearance, and general facilities offered it is up to a 4-star international standard. Didn't check out the spa, but the in-house exercise room is an open pavilion with a few pathetic looking weights and elderly bench press.
As with all of our Vietnam hotels, there were issues with the wake-up calls, but the breakfast buffet was good and the hotel amazingly clean shortly after massive flooding.

Vinh Hung Resort - Quiet place to relax!
Lovely grounds and pool. 5 minute walk to river, 5 minutes on from there to restaurants. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff and management. Food tastings every night (whilst we were there). Excellent for price.

Wonderful Place to Stay ! strongly recommend !!!
We travelled throughout Vietnam for 21 days and this would have to be the best hotel complex that we stayed at.
The rooms are set out like small bungalows with our room overlooking the river. There is a free boat into town from 7.00am to 5.00pm but you can walk which only takes 10 mins.
The rooms at the hotel a very large with king beds and table with lounge. It addition double doors open onto a verandah with table and chairs. The pool area is large with a swim up bar and spa, very nice. The breakfast is in the main dining room that is a seperate building to the rooms. Breakfast was great with all types of food and fruit. In the evening outside the dining room on the grass there is food and wine tasting, all vietnam food. This is a nice touch.
The staff in all areas were very helpful giving advice on the main areas on Hoi An.
I would strongly recommend this hotel to any person visiting Hoi An.
